Hollow or Semi-Hollow body Gretsch?

I am in the market for a Gretsch. It will be my first electric guitar and I plan to play a variety of things on it, although mainly the Beatles and that kind of thing. You may know that The Beatles also played a huge variety of music. They played softer music, pre-1965 (with exceptions) then going around 1966 and on, played heavier tracks such as Hey Bulldog (with a fuzz pedal), Lady Madonna, Helter Skelter and Revolution (heavily distorted, plugged directly into the desk on a dying channel and allowed it to reject the sound, disturbing the frequencies). They played on a huge range of guitars like earlier Gretsch Duo Jets, Country Gentlemans (personal favourite), Tennesseans (another favourite), Epiphone Casinos, Rickenbacker 330/12s, 325s, Gibson SG Standards, Teles, Strats etc. etc.
The guitars I was looking at are under £400, around £390.
Gretsch G2622 (semi)
Gretsch G2420 (hollow)
Could somebody help me decide and give pros and cons of hollow vs semi?

[GEAR] Wondering what kinds of pedals/ effects that john lennon used in the latter days of the beatles and his solo career

Towards the end of the Beatles career as a group, John began to stand out distinctly from the group in the tone of his guitar. On songs like Revolution, The End, Yer Blues, Glass Onion, etc. John sticks with a grittier tone, but i was wondering what effects he was using as i cant really put my finger on it. Paired with his epiphone casino, it was pretty distinct and absolutely potent. just wanna tap into that myself. Thanks!

[QUESTION] About how much does it cost for a guitar to be sanded?

I recently purchased an Epiphone casino and am in love with it, but the main reason I got it was because of John Lennon. I didn't want to spend thousands on a "John Lennon revolution" model but I still want at least the body to be like his. I know he had it sanded down with 2 coats of finish on it. So does anyone know how much money it would take for a professional to do it? I've only been playing guitar for a year so I'm afraid if I try to DIY it I'll ruin it.
